The philosophy of Paper Paste Living is to create beautiful and functional interior from recycled paper. All products are handcrafted in Spain and designed in Denmark by Hans Thyge & Co, and the company is constantly searching for new methods, materials, and ways of working for a better planet. The company won the Green Product Award 2023 in the category of interior and lifestyle.
The core material is recycled paper, which is transformed into a functional home object. Making a mould always provides the company with several product possibilities. For instance, their first mould provided them with four different items. Any leftover material during production is recycled into subsequent batches.
The products are made by blending paper waste with water, pouring it into a mould and compressing it. The recycled paper is collected from households around Barcelona and only requires water, natural colour pigments, and no other additives. They use other materials, like FSC-certified wood sourced locally in Europe, coconut fibers, and regenerated cotton for upholstery in the pouf.
